Dog Sledges Snow Tubing and Snake Glisse

This is the eco-version of snow mobiling!  Husky dog sledging is great fun for everybody. You will race over the snow with your team of dogs and experience the thrill of working with huskies. You can even learn how to steer and control your own sledge pulled by husky dogs.  There is husky dog sledging most days that starts/finishes just a couple of hundred meters from the chalets.

Only 5 mins drive from the chalets, there is a snow park at Les Pélerins which is just great for sledging.  You can also descend the slope on a snowtube (its look like giant tire inner tubes) which fixes onto a specially lowered drag lift so you don't even have to walk up the hill!  There is also the "snake glisse" .... each person sits on a special sledge, each sledge interconnects into the another sledge in front and behind to form a snake and the snake is dragged up the hill by snowmobile.  Great fun for kids, young and not so young!

Aiguille du Midi

The Aiguille du Midi cable car leaves from the centre of Chamonix(5mins from the chalets), rises up the North Face of the Aiguille du Midi to the summit at an altitude of 3842m.  From there the views of the Alps are simply incredible. There are several terraces with spectacular views of the Swiss, French and Italian Alps. On a clear day it is even possible to see the Matterhorn.  Unmissable views from what feels like the top of the world. An experience to remember.

Snow Shoeing / Raquettes

If you like to hike, you'll love snowshoeing. Whether your goal is to get out for a leisurely walk in the snow or go for a more physically challenging adventure higher into the mountains, snowshoeing is a great way to introduce yourself to winter backcountry.  Snowshoes can be easily rented from most hire shops and guided snowshoeing can be arranged is you fancy something more adventurous.

Mer de Glace / Montenvers Railway Scenic Helicopter Flights

A funicular railway that departs from Chamonix (5mins from the chalets) and makes its way up to the Mer de Glace glacier.  The top station at Montenvers has a cafe and restaurant and is built on a rocky ridge overlooking the glacier.  There’s also a cable car which takes you down to the glacier where you can visit the Ice Grotto, an amazing ice cave that’s dug inside the glacier and features a collection of ice sculptures.

Only one thing makes the spectacular mountain views even more impressive, and that's seeing them from a helicopter.  For a truly memorable experience, a  helicopter tour can provide the icing on the cake for the perfect holiday.
